MMMIGS Intro2PhD: Literature research & research question

In the winter semester 2023 / 24, the Minds, Media, Machines Integrated Graduate School (MMMIGS) is offering a seminar for doctoral students who have recently started their doctorate. In the second session, literature research and the development of a research question will be discussed. Topics covered include finding, reading and managing relevant literature, strategies to move from reading to writing, and writing a literature review report and turning it into a dissertation chapter or journal article. Based on gaps in the current state of research identified during the literature review, strategies for developing a research question are then presented. Dividing the research question into sub-questions and translating them into practical actions creates a link back to the planning strategies discussed in Session 1.
