Science Council wants to strengthen computer science

The German Council of Science and Humanities, the most important science policy advisory body in Germany, recommends strengthening computer science as a subject.

In its recommendations on "Prospects for computer science in Germany", the German Council of Science and Humanities has proposed measures to strengthen the subject, which has developed from an academic newcomer to one of the most sought-after subjects in Germany and a discipline with a strong research base in just a few decades. In particular, the committee suggests strengthening interdisciplinary research with the humanities and social sciences and introducing a compulsory module on socio-technical aspects of computer science research across the board.

The recommendations are therefore very much in line with the profile and objectives of Minds, Media, Machines. The corresponding press release can be found here: Link.
