Under Horizon Europe, the European Commission is funding research on integrated photonic devices and circuits with extended functionality and ultra-low-power operation. Applications include computing, sensing, data processing and AI.
The topic (HORIZON-CL4-2027-05-DIGITAL-EMERGING-03) has a budget of €25 million, with €3–5 million per project and six projects expected. The call opens on 17 November 2026, and the deadline is 18 March 2027.
